I believe that if Dracula was turned into a thriller the movie would work very well. It would not have to be re-written completely, just the language so that people could understand it better. This book is already a
"thriller"so making it into a movie would not be that difficult. I would be very interested to see Dracula turn into a modern movie. It would be much different watching everything play out rather than trying to picture it in my head. I hope it does turn into a modern movie sometime soon.

Dracula
Dracula is a completely different story than Twilight, which is what we have mainly talked about this semester. I realized while reading how scary the original vampire truly was. I had always heard stories of vampires and such but never read one for myself until Twilight and now Dracula. This was such a new story to me. I liked reading the ideal story of the vampire that I had never actually read before. It was a "new" refreshing story much better than the Twilight series.

Ambrogio
I really enjoyed this story as well. I liked how each different God cursed him with something different. I also thought the fact that Artemis ended up feeling bad and giving him blessings. After cursing him instead of just taking it away she just gave him immortality and called it a blessing. However, I would not consider immortality a blessing. If you are truly immortal then you obviously live forever, which means you live for X amount of years and then lose all of your loved ones, possibly get more, and then lost those. I would not find immortality to be a blessing.
Cain and Lilith
I always knew that there were different versions of the first vampire however when I first read about Cain being the first vampire I was shocked. The idea of Cain being the first vampire was completely new to me because I had only ever heard the story from the Bible. This idea was completely different. I had never heard anything like it. I thought it was a really good idea because God from the Old Testament was wrathful and would be cruel enough to curse Cain like that. It was a really cool and interesting idea.

Carmilla
I really like Carmilla so far. It is so much different than any other vampire story we have read because it is a female vampire. This is going to make the story much more feminine. Most vampire stories are males, or on the rare Twilight occasion it is a family. However, even in the family it is concentrated mostly on Edward and Carlisle so again it is mostly male. A female vampire is an interesting new side that we have not yet focused on.

Breaking Dawn vs. The Vampyre
Yesterday I was in the Houston airport writing my the last half of my paper and I was honestly surprised at how similar the writing styles are even though there are so many years apart. I know that I picked my writing topics beforehand but I did not actually realize how similar they truly were until I started writing. I really enjoyed finding those little things that are similar.

Poetry vs. Stories
Today in class we talked about liking or disliking poetry. I personally dislike poetry, very strongly. The only poetry I can stand and enjoy is children's poetry like Shel Silverstein poems. Things like that are adorable. However, complicated adult poetry, such as Emily Dickinson, I find it a waste of time because usually when you read poetry you have to interpret it, possibly still not completely understanding it, and then write a paper on it. I much prefer reading a story or novel because on those types of things I am very good at reading comprehension and writing a paper when I understand something is very easy for me.
